Deputy Director of Programs and Projects

Mariana Galvão is a journalist with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication and a Master's in Business Administration, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).  With over 13 years of professional experience in the socio-environmental field, she has led important initiatives such as Project K - Knowledge for Action, and the REM Mato Grosso program, both funded by the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (Funbio). She has worked in environmental consultancies and social organizations/institutes for diversity and inclusion, education, health and entrepreneurship projects, including Escola de Gente - Communication for Inclusion, Instituto Reação and the Ronald McDonald Institute.

 Recently, Mariana took part in the Environmental Leadership Program at Universidad Del Salvador and the Jane Goodall Institute and the LGBTQ+ Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University. She joined the Land Innovation Fund as Project Implementation Leader in 2021, and has participated in the formation and coordination of all the initiatives in the Fund's portfolio. She is now the Deputy Director of Programs and Projects, and also oversees the inception and development of new initiatives and partnerships.
