Sarita Albagli is a sociologist with a PhD in Geography (UFRJ), she is now a researcher at the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology (IBICT), coordinates the Research Laboratory for Open Science and Citizen Innovation (CindaLab), and has several scientific publications in the country and abroad. As a professor in the Graduate Program in Information Science at IBICT and UFRJ, Sarita has supervised more than 40 Master's, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral research projects. She has provided consultancy and coordinated projects and multidisciplinary research teams in the fields of open and citizens' science, social innovation, participatory governance and local development, particularly involving socio-environmental agendas and associated emergency and disaster situations. She has supported the Land Innovation Fund in the area of "Participation and Diversity", one of the Fund's priority programmatic themes.
