Prioritizing areas for restoration in the Cerrado
In situ technology validation to identify and prioritize restoration areas in the Brazilian Cerrado
This forest restoration startup uses artificial intelligence data analysis, biotechnology and drones to spread native seeds efficiently in remote areas. Its solution is to restore degraded ecosystems quickly, efficiently and economically, thus mitigating climate change and conserving biodiversity. Participation in the PSSC will allow the startup to expand into Brazil, particularly into the Cerrado, a region heavily impacted by deforestation, with direct access to researchers and experts to improve its technology and then test it in loco with participating farmers from the For Farmers program.
Reforest Latam aims to identify the ideal species for preserving natural biodiversity in the Cerrado, test theiSeedsbiotech seed technology, especially developed for the region, and evaluateits use foreffective and sustainablereforestation plansinthe biome. With these activities, the startup hopes to conserve biodiversity, improve ecosystem services, mitigate climate change and promote sustainable practices.
