Sowing opportunities
Capture carbon, sow opportunities, distribute income and keep the Cerrado standing
To strengthen the network of native seed collectors driving the systemic restoration of ecosystems, especially in the Cerrado biome, this startup offers training to traditional communities and measures socio-environmental impacts on entire landscapes. Verde Novo is forging new links among many players in the agricultural chain and modeling regenerative agriculture solutions in collaboration with farmers, researchers and other entrepreneurs in the Sustainable Soy for the Cerrado Program (PSSC).
Verde Novo's plan is to offer full restoration services on soy farms, particularly in northeastern Goiás and MatoGrosso do Sul, which have witnessed a continuous spread of the agricultural frontier into native vegetation areas. It intends to connect seed collectors in vulnerable communities for no-till planting, using remote sensing and drone surveys to monitor, measure and sell credits for the carbon captured on restored lands.
